Happy (almost) November! Tonight is the Annual Halloween Parade on Main Street – see our Halloween Guide for more details so you don’t miss out on any of the fun. Grab your costume and we’ll see you on Main Street! Moving along to this weekend, we’ve got some other fun Fall events on the docket. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and on Nantucket we are part of an especially giving community, which is evident by how many people show up and contribute to island fundraisers – like the two happening this weekend!
Explore the Nantucket Exploration Station
Saturday, 11/2, 10am – 12pm
Take Saturday morning and head over to the Exploration Station to find out more about the preschool and after school programs they offer. Your kids can explore and play in their indoor and outdoor classrooms, work on a project and enjoy a snack.
Inky Santa Chili Contest
Saturday, 11/2, 11:30am – 2:30pm
Inky Santa Toy Drive is a local organization that provides assistance to families in need during the holidays by giving toys and gifts. This Saturday, head to The Charlie Noble for the Annual Chili Contest (one of two fundraisers this weekend). Taste some of the best chilis in town carefully hand crafted by local restaurants, while helping to make a families holiday season special! Proceeds benefit the Inky Santa Toy Drive.
Run for Robin
Sunday, 11/3, 10am – 1pm
It is time for one of our favorite Fall fundraisers – the Run for Robin 5K! Join fellow participants on Sunday to run, walk or stroll from Sconset Casino to Sankaty Lighthouse and back. Don’t miss the post-run party including food and beverages as well as activities such as a raffle, Corn Hole Tournament, Awards & Music. All proceeds benefit The Harvey Foundation!
