Tis the season! Nantucket is decked out in holiday cheer – decorated Christmas trees line the streets, store fronts have decorated their windows, the Killen Christmas Tree Boat has officially launched into the Easy Street Boat Basin, and we are frantically checking things off our gift lists! It’s always important to shop local, but in this COVID year it is even more important. There are many ways to help our favorite island establishments this season to help ensure that they will all still be here when COVID is finally over.
Mitchell’s Book Corner & Nantucket Bookworks
For the bookworm on your holiday list, head over to one of the bookstores in town, Mitchell’s on the corner of Main and Orange, or Nantucket Bookworks on Broad Street. A book is always a fabulous gift to give and to receive! Both stores have a wide variety of options – everything from classics, to local favorites, to bestsellers, to new releases!
100 Mile Makers at Born & Bread Bakery
100 Mile Makers launched this spring in an effort to support small businesses within a 100 mile radius of Nantucket. They have everything for all your grocery shopping needs, but they have also added some fabulous gifts this holiday season. Stop by Born & Bread Bakery on Centre Street to check out their latest finds – their local honey and new candles are some of our favorites!
Nantucket Looms
An island staple for 50 years, Nantucket Looms has everything for the home one could imagine. Blankets, dishes, Christmas ornaments, candles, furniture, and more! They are eager to help you check the final gifts off your shopping list, plus they will wrap it up beautifully for you to save yourself a step!
Parchment
Parchment is our go-to for all things stationary! They’ve relocated to New Street in Sconset, but they still have all the paper products one would ever need. They are open Friday through Monday in Sconset so take a drive and visit the east end. Check out their instagram for some gift-inspo!
Milly & Grace
Milly & Grace, located in the heart of downtown Nantucket, has stocking stuffers galore. Candles, holiday ornaments, candies, accessories, and more! Fill up your stocking over with the girls at Milly & Grace. They also have a wide array of beautiful winter clothes to keep you warm all season long.
Roastd General Store
Next time you need your caffeine fix, visit Roastd on Orange Street on your way into town. Lynn has her shelves stocked with all sorts of holiday goodies and is always eager to dole out a recommendation or two!
Restaurant Gift Certificates
While we aren’t spending lots of time eating out at one of Nantucket’s world class restaurants these days, we want our beloved restaurants to still be around when this pandemic is over. A gift-certificate to a favorite restaurant is the perfect gift for the foodie on your list.
Donation to Island Non-Profit
Nantucket thrives on our non-profits and they all need our help more than ever. A donation in a loved one’s name to a favorite charity or non-profit is a perfect gift. Click here for a list of Nantucket non-profits.
