Fall things to do Nantucket

Fall is officially in full swing on Nantucket Island, and we’re embracing all this season has to offer! From fun activities to great festivals and delicious food, there’s plenty to do, see, and eat this time of year. The only hard part is figuring out how to fit it all in! Luckily, we’ve perfected how to spend the ideal fall day on the island — so grab your favorite sweater and get ready for some good views and good times.

Start the Day With a Bike Ride

There’s no better way to start the day than with some fresh air and beautiful views. Kick off your morning by renting some bikes or grabbing your own, then hit some of Nantucket’s stunning trails. A few of our favorites are ‘Sconset Bluff Walk and Madaket Bike path, but you can explore plenty more picture-worthy spots around the island, too. With the leaves changing color and the air cooling down, your morning bike ride will be nothing short of magical!

Take a Trip to Barlett’s Farm

Continue your morning by stopping by the beloved Barlett’s Farm, which is a beautiful 3-mile ride from town. Barlett’s is the perfect spot for the entire family, where you can spend a couple hours picking your own pumpkins, munching on some apple cider donuts, and taking in all the beautiful views. As Nantucket’s oldest and largest family-owned farm, it’s a must-see stop to add to your fall itinerary.

Check Out a Fall-Themed Event

The island offers a few festivals and special events throughout the season celebrating and honoring the island’s ecological treasures! Cobblestones and Cranberries and the Scallopers Ball are two popular events to attend, and year after year showcase fun ways to enjoy the island and community. Not sure if you can make one? Don’t worry! There’s still plenty more to do to fill your fall day…

Dig Into Something Delicious

Make an afternoon pitstop at a local restaurant or cafe to indulge in some autumnal delights. We suggest checking out Ethos, a boutique wine bar that was just named Small Business of the Year by the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce! It offers a fresh take on classic cocktails, farm-to-table dishes, and an extensive wine list that you’re sure to love.

You could also stop into Dune, a chic spot at the heart of the island. With a beautiful bar and charming patio, it’s a great setting to spend an autumn afternoon sipping on a tasty beverage  and digging into a delicious menu.
