Dan Dunlap began his career as a community banker when he was 13 years old, working as a janitor in his family’s bank. While in this position he gained an eye for detail and concern for how customers viewed the bank and people he worked for. Eventually he worked his way through all areas of the bank and into management positions. Dan purchased his own bank in Iowa in the mid 1980’s and started a de novo bank in Arizona in the late 1990’s; never forgetting what he learned in his first job – an appreciation for detail and a perspective about what high end client service is all about…serving the customer.

Dan and his family have owned a home on Nantucket for over 30 years. As a year round resident, Dan is putting his decades of banking experience and his commitment to customer service to use as a Broker for Lee Real Estate where he’s dedicated to helping buyers and sellers fulfill their real estate objectives in a timely, professional and caring manner. Dan is particularly adept at market research and analysis and authors the monthly publication “The Nantucket Real Estate Report.”

Prior to moving to Nantucket full-time, Dan either started or co-founded several for-profit and not-for-profit organizations in Iowa, Arizona and Massachusetts and has been active in a number of professional and community development organizations. Today he serves as Deacon at Summer Street Church and President of Spiritual Heritage Nantucket.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Colorado State University. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time biking, hiking, playing a little golf and fishing whenever he can. He and his wife Shellie also love to travel and spend as much time as possible with their three sons, daughter, three daughters-in-law and nine grandchildren.
