Life on Nantucket and a long career in real estate has fostered a sound appreciation for how important it is to have harmony in architecture, design, landscape and preservation.  The island is a phenomenal study of history, commerce, hospitality and development.  Having graduated from Cornell University with an Agricultural Economics degree more conventionally applied to developing nations, Carolyn’s growing interest in tourism and resort management brought sense a career in real estate on Nantucket. Since joining Lee Real Estate in 1996 it’s been a fabulous collaboration and mutual success with Jeff Lee.

A native of Rochester, New York, Carolyn grew up in the southeast suburb of Pittsford.  She often thinks of the grounding ethos of places like Rochester that influence your world view and life perspectives.  With Carolyn, advice and counsel will be considered and honest.  Her experience is considerable and her knowledge wide reaching.  The intellectual capital that she can draw on is a huge advantage to her clients.

At home her best mornings begin with family time and exercise.  She trained for two marathons running nearly every mile on sandy roads across the Middle Moors.  Travel is often to be with family with returning trips to Sun Valley and Napa Valley.  After 25 years on Nantucket one values places like the island with a greater and greater appreciation.

Carolyn fostered the real estate transaction that secured the location for The White Heron Theatre and she has continued as a board.  She has also served on boards for Palliative and Supportive Care of Nantucket and The Montessori Children’s House of Nantucket.  Together with her husband Ben Champoux they are involved with The Nantucket Conservation Foundation and The Sconset Trust.
