July Event Calendar

Summer is in full swing on the island and July has a full event calendar! Check out the list of ACKtivities in July and plan your month accordingly so be sure not to miss any of the great events this island has to offer!

July 4th – Nantucket Independence Day

Independence Day on the island is usually celebrated on Main Street with a water fight with the Nantucket Fire Department and fireworks at Jetties Beach. With COVID restrictions still in place, we won’t be celebrating in exactly that way but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy a holiday weekend. Hit the beach and enjoy some sunshine while singing happy birthday to the US of A.

July 13th – July 15th – Nantucket Garden Festival

The 12th annual Nantucket Garden Festival is on the books for mid-July. The festival celebrates gardening though both in-person and virtual lectures and workshops, garden tours and children’s ACKtivities. Check out their website, here, for details on how to register.

July 15th – July 17th – Nantucket Comedy Festival

The Nantucket Comedy Festival is in it’s 14th season of bringing top comedic talent to the island. There are lots of great events planned this year, so be sure to check out their website to score tickets to the hottest comedy shows in town.

July 15th – July 18th Nantucket Art & Artisan Show

The Nantucket Art & Artisan Show has gone virtual this year. The team is celebrating its 30th year with a curated online show. Head to their website for some great shopping as well as their amazing auction. The show benefits not only local artisans, but 25% of all sales support Small Friends on Nantucket.

July 17th – Nantucket Triathlon

Get your bathing suit on, your bike pedals greased, and your running shoes laced – it is time for the Nantucket Triathlon. Check out their website for more details – if you’re not looking to participate you can cheer on your friends at Jetties Beach.

July 24th – AAN Annual Art Auction & Gala

The Artist Association of Nantucket’s annual art auction and gala is one of the most anticipated events of the season. The format for this years gala is still somewhat TBD so check out their website to learn more about what the event will look like.

July 24th – Swim Across America

Swim Across America’s open water swim on Nantucket is set for July 24th at Jetties Beach. All swimmers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate. Proceeds from the swim support cancer treatments and patient care at Nantucket Cottage Hospital and PACSON. Visit their website here to support the swimmers or register yourself!
