º The weekly tide forecast is published in the Inquirer & Mirror every week and tide calendars are available at both Barry Thurston's (508.228.9595) and Bill Fisher's Tackle (508.228.2261) shops.
º Newspapers (Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, New York Times, etc…) are available at Nantucket Pharmacy downtown on Main Street and The 'Sconset Market.
º The Steamship Authority auto-reservation policy is a concern to many people and "stand-by" is a difficult process for those unfamiliar with it. If you are seeking information relative to ferry reservations and stand-by it is a good idea to go to the Steamship (508.228.0262) or Hy-Line (508.228.3949) offices in person. The airline schedules and ferry schedules are listed in the Nantucket Guides and the numbers for island carriers are on the General Information Sheet enclosed.
º The NRTA shuttle has been very successful and their schedule and routes are in this packet. The island taxi service is excellent and there are a number of companies to choose from. The names and numbers are listed on your General Information Sheet enclosed.
º If you need any type of baby furniture (crib, highchair, stroller, etc…) Nantucket Rent All (508.228.1525) will deliver and pick up. They have an extensive inventory of rental items. The Camera Shop (508.228.0101) on Main Street handles television and VCR rentals. Nantucket Office Products (508.228.4220) on Pleasant St. handles faxes and any other type of business need.
º Nantucket has a high incidence of Lymes Disease and it is something to very conscious of. In case of emergency, Nantucket has a 911 emergency service. The Nantucket Cottage Hospital (508.228.1200) is located at 57 Prospect St. (across from the high school via Vesper Ln. or Prospect St. off Surfside Rd.).
